There's nothing wrong with that, but it's not the way I choose to play the game. defensive pacts last the entire game and cause you unnecessary stress as a human player) Defensive pacts only cause stress if you want to have ALL THE THINGS and you want them RIGHT NOW. aztecs are a problem for late game and last as long as it takes you to crush them. (i personally keep sunset invasion on, while disabling defensive pacts.

Nice to keep on if you just want to bash a fantasy invasion of 200k, but generally seen as annoying by the vast majority. placing it in line with sunset invasion for practicality. Turning defensive pacts to off does not inhibit ironman nor does it disable achievements. It is illogical for the time when it reaches over 75% as there is no way in hell a muslim sultan would come running to defend some catholic nobody, or a bunch of kings defending an independent county, who refuses to swear fealty to them for this exact reason "pretection under their realm".

Originalmente postado por Random:as jfoytek said, there is no point to even using defensive pacts at all in the game rules.
